Following a successful release of the Gigway platform in May 2019, we’ve been focusing on taking the business to the next level. In order to reach our vision, external funding is necessary. In November 2019, we signed an agreement of a management buyout as well as a seed round of 2,75 MSEK.
Gigway, the professional gig-platform for freelancers, was created to fill the gap between freelancers and corporate customers on local markets. By matching gigs with AI, automizing administration, in app-messaging, price negotiation, reviews as well as handling employment and salaries the platform makes the process fast and simple for both parties.
In November 2019, the majority shareholder Serendipity’s shares were bought by our CEO Adrian Swartz, and a group of 12 angel investors backed the company in the seed round. The seed round will be used for growth activities, platform development and key recruitments to the core team. During 2019, the Gigway business has been growing in average 22% per month. We have now built a foundation for the future.
Our focus on digital roles for the local Swedish market has proven to be a successful approach. Hereafter, we will keep our focus on becoming the most trusted and qualified marketplace for professional gigs on local markets. Our vision is to democratize consulting by making it possible for anyone to be their own boss.
